The Jim Gattlin story

The original design for this armor was never meant to look like a bear. Right before the public unveiling there was an accident in the lab. A tech that was running on to little sleep and too much coffie stumbled and dumped a jar of acid on the unit. After cleaning up the acid the techs found that the units casing had been damaged and would have to be replaced. But with the unvaling in less than an hour and a huge crowd gathering they had to find some way to fix it. Finding that there wasn't a spare of the plate they needed they went in search of a new covering. Finding a Smokey the Bear costume in a back closset they quickly fitted it to the frame as best they could. Though it didn't quite fit and wasn't in good of condition the public loved it and the responce was overwhelming.

With the backing of several of the larger traveling merchants and the Oakcorps they were able to produce several more prototypes. While the unit proformed well it was the exterior design that made it popular.

Smokey the Bear Power Armor
Prototype date: PA37
Production date: PA45
Model Type: Oak Bear 1
Class:Oaktech Medium Recon Exo-Skeleton
Crew: One

M.D.C. by Location:
Arms (2) -- 100 each
Legs (2) -- 130 each
*Head -- 80
**Main Body -- 220

*Destroying the head will eliminate all forms of optical enhancement and sensory systems. The pilot must now rely on his or her own vision and senses. No power armour combat bonuses to strike, parry, and dodge! Note: The head is a small and difficult target to hit. Thus it can only be hit when a character makes a called shot and even then the attacker is -3 to strike.

**Depleting the M.D.C. of the main body will shut the armour down completely, making it useless.
